Drone PALS Program

Hands-on STEM learning through drone technology and real-world missions.

Exploring STEM Through Drone Technology

The Drone PALS Program introduces young people to drone technology as a way to build foundational STEM skills and explore how emerging tools are used in real-world settings.

Participants gain early exposure to applications of drone technology in areas such as public safety, law enforcement, and technology related fields, helping them connect STEM learning to future career possibilities.

Hands-On Learning with Real-World Missions

Youth engage in interactive activities designed to simulate real-world drone missions. Through these experiences, participants explore concepts related to:

  • Engineering and aeronautics
  • Problem-solving and navigation
  • Data collection and situational awareness
  • Safety protocols and operational planning

By applying STEM concepts in practical scenarios, youth build technical confidence while seeing how classroom learning translates into action.

Mentorship and Ethical Technology Use

Drone PALS connects youth with law enforcement officers and trained mentors who provide guidance, encouragement, and perspective on responsible technology use.

Through mentorship and discussion, participants learn the importance of:

  • Planning and communication
  • Ethical decision-making
  • Safe and responsible operation of advanced tools

Mentors help reinforce how technology can be used thoughtfully and for the benefit of the community.

Building Skills and Community Trust

The program strengthens relationships between youth and law enforcement by creating collaborative, innovative learning environments.

Through shared experiences participants strengthen skills such teamwork, communication, and critical thinking while building trust and mutual understanding.  The program supports both youth development and positive community connection through hands-on, future-focused learning.
