What is National PAL?

NationalPAL (Police Activities League) is a nonprofit organization that creates safer, stronger communities by empowering local chapters to connect youth and law enforcement (e.g., police departments, sheriff’s departments) through activities, education, and mentorship—helping young people thrive.

National PAL’s mission is to create safer, stronger communities by empowering local chaptersto connect youth and law enforcement through activities, education, and mentorship—inspiring kids to thrive.

National PAL programs serve all ages of youth in communities nationwide, especially those who benefit from positive role models, safe environments, and opportunities for personal growth during out-of-school time.

National PAL provides mentorship through programs such as sports, education, STEM, arts, and leadership development. While the activities vary by community, every program is designed to build positive relationships, life skills, and trust between youth and mentors.

National PAL partners with law enforcement agencies to engage officers as mentors and role models. Through consistent, positive interaction, PAL programs help build trust, break down barriers, and strengthen relationships between police and youth.

Studies show that communities that have established PAL experience reductions in crime and violence among youth.
